An adjunctive therapy for pain of Osteoarthritis.

Product Description

Can be used to treat joint discomfort and dysfunction caused by osteoarthritis of the knee and hips.



This medicine is slow-acting. It typically takes 2 months for symptoms to improve; however, effects can persist for some time following the end of treatment.



Suitable for ages 15 and over.




Directions for Use

To be taken orally.

Swallow whole with water.



Dosage

Take 1 capsule twice a day (2 capsules = 1 gram)

Active Ingredient

Per capsule:

Sodium chondroitin sulphate – 500 mg



Other Ingredients:

Talc



Capsule shell:

Gelatine, titanium dioxide (E171), indigotin




Packaging

This medicine is produced in capsule form and sold in packs of 60.




Contra-indications

Do NOT:

– use if you are allergic to any of this medicine's ingredients; or

– give to children under 15.




Interactions with Other Medicines– If you are currently taking,
or have recently taken, any other medicines (including non-prescription
medicines), consult your doctor prior to use.




Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding– You are advised not to take this medicine during pregnancy or breast-feeding unless recommended by your doctor.

– If you discover that you are pregnant after starting treatment,
consult your doctor urgently – only they are properly qualified to
modify your treatment to meet your needs.

– Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using any form of medicine.




Possible Side Effects

As with all medicines, Structum 500 mg capsules may have one or more
undesirable side effects on the body. Some people are more resistant
than others. Potential adverse effects include:

– Allergic skin reaction (including rash, hives and eczema, with or
without itching or swelling). In such cases, discontinue use immediately
and seek medical advice.

– Digestive problems (nausea) and vomiting. In such cases, seek medical advice.

– If you experience any undesirable effect(s) not listed above, or if
the effect(s) is/are serious, consult your doctor or pharmacist.



If you exceed the recommended dose:

SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE IMMEDIATELY.
